Taking the Messiah to Muslims

As people from Muslim backgrounds are becoming increasingly open to spiritual conversations, Al Massira is helping churches build friendships, answer honest questions and guide seekers towards Jesus.

When you think about your life – your street, workplace or local supermarket – who are the people you pass by each day? And how many of them may never have heard the gospel or met a Christian?

A vision born in prayer

In 1998, amid the bustling streets of Cairo, a small group of believers gathered to pray.

They asked God for a fresh way to express faith in Jesus from within the worldview of the lands where the biblical story unfolded. They longed to create a space where friends could gather, share food, ask honest questions and explore truth freely.

Out of that prayer, Al Massira was born.

Al Massira, meaning “the journey”, is a pathway to discovering the treasure of knowing a loving God.

Developed within the Middle East, where there are real challenges surrounding the message and identity of Christ, Al Massira tells the story of the Messiah by addressing the questions people are actually asking. It invites people into relationship, trusting God to reveal himself.

From this vision emerged a film-based resource designed for small groups to journey through the Bible together, tracing God’s story through the Old Testament prophets – who prepared the way for us to understand the Messiah, Jesus Christ, and the triune nature of Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
