World's best athletes in Paris accord
The countdown to the Paris Olympics is nearing its climax, with Christians at the heart of the action.
The games start on July 26 in Paris, and are spread across 16 French cities, plus Tahiti in French Polynesia.
Most eyes will be on the fascinating track battle between vocal believers and women’s 400m favourites Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone and Marileidy Paulino.
McLaughlin-Levrone is the world record holder at 400m hurdles, switching to the flat in 2023 and immediately running the best time of the year.
But she was ruled out of the 2023 World Championships in Budapest, where Paulino became the first Dominican 400m winner.
The world championship final time of Paulino was only 0.02 seconds behind McLaughlin-Levrone’s 2023 world best of 48.74.
It sets up a potential Christian head-to-head in the final on Friday August 9, with the race scheduled for 7pm.
Both sprinters have been open about their beliefs, using the platform provided by their sporting excellence to speak about Jesus.
The last Olympics, in Tokyo, gave Christian competitors the same opportunity to share their faith after many made it to the podium.
