Model Kathy Ireland appeared to have it all but often felt alone. But that all changed late one night when she opened a Bible her mum had secretly hidden in her suitcase

Kathy Ireland is a name that evokes decades of glossy magazine covers, catwalk glamour and boardroom success. But beneath the surface of that image lies a deeper story – one of faith found in the most unlikely of places, a personal transformation born not in Hollywood, but in the pages of Scripture.

Now 62 and living in Santa Barbara, California with her husband of 38 years, Greg Olsen, and their three children, Ireland’s life has become a testimony not just of entrepreneurial success, but of the power of Christian faith to redefine identity, purpose and legacy.

Her journey didn’t begin with Bible study groups or Sunday school. In fact, Ireland now 63, grew up with “really no faith” at all, she has said. It wasn’t until 1981, at the age of 18, that a chance encounter with God changed everything.

She had just flown to Paris to pursue modelling and was living in an apartment where, she later recalled, she often felt unsafe and alone. Her mother, newly converted to Christianity, had secretly placed a Bible in Ireland’s suitcase. One night, worn down by jet lag and curiosity, she opened it – and found herself confronted with something she hadn’t expected: the truth.
