Senny's point is pitch-perfect

Paris Saint-Germain teenager Senny Mayulu is making headlines not only for his footballing ability but also for his public profession of faith.

The 19-year-old midfielder scored in PSG’s 2–1 victory over Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League this week and immediately turned the moment into an act of worship.

Mayulu’s response was captured on camera as he lifted his hands and praised Jesus Christ after his decisive contribution. The gesture quickly circulated across Christian sports networks online.

The Christian group ‘Ballers in God’ commented: “19 years old, a goal on the big stage, and his first response – prayer. Senny Mayulu points to the One who gave him the gift.” Adding: “We thank God for raising up bold footballers who aren’t ashamed of their faith in Christ.”

This is not the first time the Paris-born player with Congolese heritage has gone public about his beliefs. Earlier this season, after scoring at youth level for PSG, Mayulu shared a verse from Psalm 34 on Instagram: “Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him,” (Psalm 34:8). The post was accompanied by the words, “God is good.”
