Lucas and family Paqu-ing the pews

West Ham United’s Brazilian midfielder, Lucas Paquetá, has recently shared a profound personal transformation, embracing Christianity after years of spiritual uncertainty.

At 28, Paquetá revealed that he had spent years rejecting the Christian faith before experiencing a powerful conversion. He described the moment as waking up and becoming a Christian, accompanied by his wife to church – a decision that has deeply influenced his life and career.

This newfound faith was publicly affirmed when Paquetá was baptised in the pool of his house. He later expressed his gratitude, stating, “All glory and honour be to God!” Such declarations have become a hallmark of his journey, reflecting a commitment to his beliefs.

Paquetá's faith has also been evident in his family life. In a recent pre-season friendly, his sons walked out wearing West Ham shirts emblazoned with “Glory to God,” showcasing the family’s shared devotion.
