Loyal Gunners star Saka signs deal

Arsenal’s homegrown star Bukayo Saka, 24, has committed his prime years to the Gunners with a new five-year contract keeping him at the Emirates Stadium until 2031.

And his Christian faith remains at the heart of his life on and off the pitch.

Born in Ealing, London in 2001, the England winger has spoken openly about how his belief in Jesus shapes his mentality and success.

In reflecting on his faith, Saka has said: “I try to read my Bible every night before I go to bed,” underlining that prayer and Scripture ground him through the pressures of elite football.

Saka’s faith journey stretches back to his upbringing in a Christian family, and he has previously described how keeping “the presence of God in me all the time” gave him confidence during his first World Cup.

While Saka prefers to let his actions on the pitch do his talking for him, he has been spotted wearing a wristband with a cross on it and on another occasion wearing a black wristband that read, “What God cannot do does not exist.”

Now the highest-paid player at The Emirates and earning over £300,000 a week, Saka’s fresh deal was widely celebrated by fans and church communities alike – seen as a testimony to loyalty and conviction in an era of big-money moves.

His world-class football ability helped Arsenal clinch the league title this season for the first time in 22 years.

Saka’s blend of elite talent and outspoken faith continues to inspire Christians across the UK, showing that devotion and football can kick together.
