Iowa it all to God, says receiver Reece

A two-touchdown debut game focused the post-game press conference cameras on Iowa Hawkeyes’ wide receiver Reece Vander Zee and his simple message: “I credit my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for giving me this opportunity.”

In the first game of Vander Zee’s college career he helped the Hawkeyes to a 40-0 win against Illinois State University Redbirds.

He notched 66 receiving yards on five catches in addition to the two touchdowns.

He added: “A lot of things fell into place for me to be here, and I get all my confidence from him [Jesus]. I prayed that he gave me confidence. And I went out there and showed that.”
