Borussia Dortmund midfielder Felix Nmecha sparked Easter celebrations across the football world after a stunning performance and a heartfelt Instagram message that resonated with believers.

On Easter Sunday last year, the German-English star shared a simple yet powerful post: “Grateful to celebrate Easter with a win and a goal. All glory to Jesus.”

The caption lit up social media, quickly being praised by fans, teammates and fellow Christians alike.

The message wasn’t an isolated moment. Earlier the midfielder posted “Not the win, but still grateful to be back out there. All glory to God,” underscoring how faith drives his life and sport.

Hamburg-born Nmecha’s football journey took him from Manchester City’s academy to Bundesliga powerhouse Borussia Dortmund, where he now wears the No 8 shirt.

The 25-year-old has never been shy about publicly sharing his belief that his talent is part of a greater purpose. This season, Nmecha has found the net and impressed in the German top flight.

He opened his 2026 scoring account with a crucial strike in a 3-3 draw away to Eintracht Frankfurt in January.

His Easter weekend goal wasn’t just a statistical programme note; it became the centrepiece of his social-media testimony and a vivid reminder of his belief that sport and faith can coexist.
