Ballers united by spiritual bootcamp
Forget Marbella and Mykonos – this summer’s hottest gathering for footballers wasn’t a luxury beach break, but a soul-refreshing spiritual bootcamp!
The annual Ballers in God retreat saw top players from across the continent swap boots for Bibles as they descended on a five-day faith fest to “grow in Christ, grow in community and grow in calling”, according to founder John Bostock.
Bostock, once dubbed the next big thing at Spurs, kicked off the event with raw, honest reflections on staying “consistent in faith and football”. Players then dropped their egos and hit their knees – literally – for a full hour of united prayer. Injuries, career pressures and global influence were all laid at the feet of heaven.
“It’s powerful to see ballers from rival clubs lifting each other up in prayer,” one attendee posted online. “We’re not just teammates in the game – we’re brothers in Christ.”
The retreat hit new heights when special guest Pastor Randolph Adjei took the stage, igniting the room with a message of purpose and impact. “You are not just athletes,” he preached. “You are light in dark places.”
