Outreach newspaper lights a fire!

After more than 40 years of being delivered to homes around the country, an outreach newspaper is still doing what it ‘says on the tin’ – that is, bringing New Life!

And the monthly tabloid of powerful testimonies is now being used to support a special Easter mission in Doncaster, with 12,000 copies of a bespoke April edition carrying local stories of changed lives.

Special editions like this have been used over the decades to aid missions, while New Life as a whole has regularly reminded readers around the UK that Jesus is alive, and that no-one is a hopeless cause where he is concerned.

Elim Network leader Phil Weaver, of New Springs Church in Loughborough, has used the paper regularly over many years and told of remarkable results in one terraced street back in the 1980s.

“Up to eight people from that street came to the Lord directly through New Life, with tremendous testimonies of lives dramatically changed.

“They never lost their fervency and fire, and it all began when one of our members, Brian Grist, faithfully delivered a couple of hundred papers each issue, not forgetting Hastings Street, with just 30 houses.

“Eventually he got into conversation with one of the residents, who came to church and was totally transformed through her encounter with Christ.

“Her husband, however, was a thoroughly miserable man, but agreed to join us on a visit to Sheffield to hear Billy Graham, where he responded to the gospel and became a very different person. A painter and decorator, he was a great servant to the church and within just a couple of years was invited to join our leadership team as an elder.”
