Former Miss USA knows the beauty of Jesus

When Asya Branch was crowned Miss USA, the 22-year-old from Booneville, Mississippi, carried more than a sash – she carried a testimony.

At just ten, Branch watched her father arrested at home, a moment she said “changed everything”.

The family lost their house, and she battled shame and isolation.

Yet in the wreckage, faith took root.

“Most of all, it strengthened my personal relationship with Jesus Christ,” she said.

A self-described “daddy’s girl”, Branch, who was given the Miss USA title in 2020, turned to Scripture in her darkest hours.

She remembered crying out to God in desperation before a life-changing encounter during prayer.

The promise of the Bible became her anchor: “For I know the plans I have for you… plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11, NIV).

Now a graduate of the University of Mississippi, with studies at Harvard University, Branch uses her platform to campaign for prison reform – even speaking with President Trump.

“People don’t recognise the hardships,” she said. “But I’ve learned to lean upon the Lord.”
