With new leaders, plenty of community action and multi-lingual adventures here and overseas, it’s been another busy year in Elim. Here’s our snapshot of 2024.

All change!

After eight years at Elim’s helm Chris Cartwright stepped aside as General Superintendent and Mark Pugh took the reins. Chris reflected on pivotal moments like leading through a global pandemic, while Mark unveiled his vision for a season of reconsecration and church planting.

Blessing in a backpack

The fatal stabbing of three young girls in Southport devastated a community and sparked national riots. Lakeside Church garnered national support to fill backpacks with gifts to give to 6,400 primary-aged children at local schools in the aftermath.

Church in a headset?

In its Digital Debate series, Elim explored some intriguing questions: does virtual church work? Does livestreaming still have a future? It was a definite yes to livestreaming from Coventry Elim, Lifecentral Church and Rediscover Church, who all told of fresh connections and encounters with online attendees.

Duo-lingo

Services in different languages are helping Elim churches cater to different communities. Monika and Pawel Kuzniar at River Church run a Polish service to reach their ex-pat community in London, Elim Aberystwyth launched Elim’s first ever regular Welsh-language service and Elim Church Crawley host a service in Creole for Mauritians.
