Christianity all adds up for genius
YoungHoon Kim, the man boasting the highest recorded IQ in the world, has set social media ablaze – not with a scientific breakthrough, but with a simple message of faith.
The 30-year-old South Korean polymath, who reportedly scored an eye-watering 276 on a supervised IQ test, stunned his 1.2 million followers on X when he declared: “I believe that Jesus Christ is God, the way and the truth and the life.”
The quote – a direct reference to John 14:6 – sent shockwaves across the platform, racking up over 20 million views and sparking a ferocious debate in the replies.
“Genius AND Christian? Didn’t see that coming,” one user wrote, while another commented: “This might be the most intelligent thing ever said on this app.”
Kim, a graduate of Harvard at 15 and now a researcher in quantum computing based in Seoul, has long kept his private beliefs under wraps. But in a brief exchange with X followers on Tuesday, he said, “I’ve spent years studying mathematics, logic, and philosophy. None of it contradicts Christ – quite the opposite.”
His decision to go public with his faith has polarised fans. Some hailed it as “brave” and “refreshing”, while others accused him of “mixing mysticism with reason”.
