Elvis Bible sold for $120,000.

Elvis Bible goes for a song

It was now or never for the auction bidder – so they paid $120,000 for Elvis Presley’s personal Bible.

The book of Scripture contains the king of rock ’n roll’s personally highlighted reflections on God’s word.

Elvis’s Bible, found by cousin Patsy Presley and father Vernon Presley after his 1977 death, is considered a valuable piece of music history and a powerful Christian testimony.

Rival potential owners couldn’t help falling in love with the gold-embossed book, with Kruse GWS Auctions receiving 23 bids.

The cover features featuring the name “Elvis Aaron Presley” and its pages are filled with bookmarked and underlined passages.

Job 31:24-26 appears to have held special resonance for Elvis because of the page markings. The verses read: “If I have made gold my hope, or have said to the fine gold, Thou art my confidence; If I rejoiced because my wealth was great, and because mine hand has gotten much; If I beheld the sun when it shined, or the moon walking in brightness.”

A personal letter from Patsy Presley states: “Shortly after Elvis’ passing, my uncle Vernon (Elvis’ dad) and I went up into Elvis’ bedroom at Graceland to organise and pack many of his personal belongings. This Holy Bible was one of three that Elvis had on his night table.”
