Waiting renews strength, increases hope, gives peace
Does ‘waiting on God’ mean for answers to prayer or something else?
Personally, I would say it’s a lot more than waiting for answers.
I heard a quote today: “We spend more time waiting on the answer than we do remembering the promise.”
I felt alarmed that my thoughts could spend more time waiting for something to unfold the way I think it will, than I do focusing on Scripture, in worship or prayer. That was alarming to me.
God hears our prayers and knows our hearts. But he also knows what we need most. So, we must be willing to pray and intercede without forgetting that we also surrender to the will of God.
Being in the presence of the Holy spirit is an encounter with God. Those encounters are important ‒ they renew strength, increase hope, and bring peace.
Let’s not always wait to see change, but wait and be with Jesus.
