God saved me from Twin Towers
9-11 survivor Stanley Praimnath has a simple explanation for a remarkable escape: “The Lord saw fit for me to live.”
If that sounds melodramatic, hear him out …
Praimnath, now aged 68, was 44 when the terror attack on the World Trade Center in New York killed more than 2,900 people.
He was the assistant vice-president running all Fuji Bank’s operations on the South Tower’s 81st floor.
As many as 18 years before that fateful day, Praimnath had become a born-again Christian.
While most of his colleagues went to lunch, he sat at his desk with a salad or soup reading his Bible.
There was no lunch for him that day, however, as the terrorists launched their morning attacks.
Instead, as he answered a call asking if he was OK, he glanced over toward the Statue of Liberty and saw a plane heading toward him.
“I’m standing up looking at this plane getting bigger and nearer,” Praimnath told God Reports.
Instinct took over and he cried out to God: “Lord, I can’t do this – you take over.”
In a seemingly pointless response to an approaching Boeing 767, he dove under his desk. Praimnath’s Bible sat on top of it.
The bottom of the plane’s wing sliced through his office and stuck in the door 20 feet from where he huddled.
“There was a massive fireball as the major part of the plane blew up,” Praimnath says. “The only desk that stood firm was the one I was hiding under, because my Bible was on top of that desk.”
